Step 3: Complete Your Clinical Evaluation
Your therapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment that may include a clinical interview, review of relevant personal and mental health history, symptom evaluation, and appropriate screening or assessment tools.
Using the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria, your therapist will determine whether your presentation supports a clinical diagnosis and whether additional assessment or referral is recommended.
Step 4: Receive Your Written Evaluation
Following the assessment, your therapist will prepare a formal written clinical evaluation documenting the relevant findings, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations, as appropriate.
Your evaluation can be provided directly to you or, with your written authorization, shared with an approved third party.
